Open in new window from the menu

Sometimes you want a link in the regular menu to go to an external page without closing the page.

This could be when you want to send visitors to your online booking or a sister site. Here on the wp-akuten, the privacy policy link in the menu works that way.

Start by going to Appearance => Menus

At the top of the screen there is a ‘screen options’ box, click on the small arrow next to it.

Check that the link target is ticked

After ticking it, the option “Open link in new tab” is available.
