One of the new features of WP 5.5 is that you can set up automatic updates for extensions. Convenient, but you might want to be a little careful with add-ons for webshops and the like.
I myself never use automatic updates. I manage so many websites that I don’t want to wake up one morning and have a bunch of pages that have problems at the same time.
